Suddenly, it became popular again in the 1960's and 1970's when nurses began to use it to relieve pain in patients. It again gained credibility when, in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta it was used as core medical service. Champissage, or head massage was also introduced to the United States around 1970. So many nerve endings and so much of our Nervous System is in our heads. Generally a massage can help different areas of the body. Well, it's the same with the head. If you have a headache, try head massage. This type of massage (also known as Indian head massage) is offered at most salons and spas, or can even be done at home. Usually you will be luxuriously massaged for about 30 minutes, but may be longer or shorter. Oil may or may not be used. This is up to you. If you have oil on your head, you may want to cover up your clothing with a protective apron, which your specialist will provide. Unlike other massages, there is no need to be nude. You will be in a chair with a low back.
There are many benefits of head massage. Primarily, it relaxes you, which in turn causes muscles to relax and the spirit to be calm and uplifted. It can also improve Blood Circulation. My dad went for one to relieve his tinnitus and migraines. Hair can grow better after a treatment. When you are headache and stress free, it is easier to sleep and concentrate.
