What is the difference between lean muscle from high reps, and Bulk Muscle from low reps?
Is there any molecular difference is it just more fat free?
Is it healthier?
I know lean muscle has more endurance.
Would its strength Last Longer if you just quit lifting?
What can you tell me.
Say between someone that does 8 to 10 reps and someone that does 17 to 20 reps.
And would it make it a better base for muscle if you did you17 to 20 then droped to 8 to 10 and then back up to twenty again?
First off, the "high reps to tone" thing is becoming more and more accepted as a huge myth.
The reality is simple. When you lift weights, you are forcing your muscles to do more work than they are accustomed to doing. When you do this, you create microscopic tears in the muscle fibers. Over the next 36-48 hours, your body repairs these tears; and in doing so, the muscle gets bigger and stronger.
So, for your muscles to grow, you need to make them do more work than they are used to. This is done thru lifting heavy weights. You should be lifting a weight that you can lift 10 times, but not more than 15, while maintaining perfect form. This will give you the best muscle growth.
Now, as for the high reps thing. The most important things is that it's not just the reps, its the weight. If you switch from 8 reps to 20 reps, then you should be cutting the weight down significantly. If you are using the same weight for both, then you aren't lifting heavy enough on the 8 rep session to do much.
